Spring Beauty Rituals…

Fast pace living, unhealthy food, heating, lack of sleep and daily pressures zap our skin of it’s glow.  Looking great and feeling vibrant go together and can be  achieved quite simply.

So whether you have a night or the luxury of a whole weekend to yourself here are some of my favourite beauty rituals to enjoy.  I love to take time to create beauty rituals prior to my bath – so some of these are to be enjoy before or during your bath.

Facial Steam to restore softness + brightness:
Use rain or distilled water (or my fave way is to leave a bowl of water in the sun/moon to evaporate the chlorine).

Pop boiling water into a bowl add two drops of essential oil + one teaspoon of Sunflower, Apricot or Rosehip Oil into the water.  Form a tent with a towel over your head.  Close your eyes and enjoy the aroma spa for about 5-10mins.  Finish by splashing your face with cool water.

Aromas – Geranium, PalmaRosa, Ylang-Ylang, Rosewood, Lavender, Rose, Lemon, Patchouli or Sandalwood.

Facial Scrub to remove dead skin, refine pores, improve circulation + nourish:
I don’t measure anything so adjust to suit – here are a few examples

Almond Meal, Orange Juice, Honey – blend to a paste and massage in
Oatmeal, Honey + Water – ground + blend to a paste
Tomato + Yogurt blended – rub into face, leave + massage off with a little water
Rub the inside of an Avocado skin on your face (with some avo left in there :))

I leave all these on the face then rinse off – voila!  Smooth skin

Face Masques to nourish:
Yogurt, Coconut + Honey – blend, apply + leave to dry + keep re-applying over the dried masque – massaging it in.  It hardens as it dries = tight glowing skin.
Mash avocado and apply to the skin (add a dash of lemon to brighten)

Eye Masque to firm:
Peel a cucumber + place the peelings under + around the eyes and of course a slice on each eye.

Serums to soothe:
Aloe Vera Gel straight from the plant with a little Macadamia Nut Oil, blend and apply.

EyeBright:
Chopped mint with water boil and simmer for about 15 mins.  Remove from the heat and steep for about 30 mins.  Remove the mind.  Pour into a jar and just use what you need.
Soak some cotton pads in the mixture + apply to the eyes.  Put my Relaxation CD on and snooze away.

Rinse with warm water and moisturize and voila ….glowing skin!
